lighting
what lights do you use and what kelvin rating??
my lighting is only a 150w halide with a blue led
strip around the top of the tank.
I had been using a BLV 20k bulb that was given to me
but swapped it to a 14k one to see if the growth rates
improve a bit.

Re: lighting
The bulb you are using is an iaquatics 14k there is a lot documented on these not being there true kelvin and I think they even over a 30k bulb which doesn't exist ???
I have had 150w BLV's and now 250w and wouldn't go to anything else as all the top reef tanks I have seen swear by them. But if your happy with your's thats all that counts

Re: lighting
I'm talking about marine lighting, 30k would have no benefits what so ever.

Re: lighting
30k is light temperature so it applies to all lights whether its marine, car, house.
like you said it wouldnt have any benefit whatsoever, basically just for colouring
but the light spectrum goes up to 40k......most of that light the human
eye cant pick up.
